Paddington Class Update

Zumba Gold Paddington classes finished up in December 2022.

Paddington Class History

  • FUNDED BY BRISWEST CENTRE (August 2021 to June 2022):
    • Zumba Gold Fitness classes were launched on August 2021 with free classes held on the third Friday of every month from August to December 2021. In 2022, $5 classes were held on the fourth Friday of the month from April to June 2022. Classes were funded/subsidised by BrisWest Centre.

  • FREE ACTIVE & HEALTHY CLASSES (July to September 2022):
    • This activity was funded by Brisbane City Council as part of Council's Active & Healthy Program - from July 2022 to September 2022. The class was under Council's GOLD Program ("Growing Old and Living Dangerously") and is suitable for seniors.

  • ​USER PAYS (October 2022 to June 2023):
    • As Brisbane City Council diverted funds for flood recovery in 2022, there wasn't sufficient funding to continue the Paddington class under the Council's Active and Healthy Program from October 2022 to June 2023. It was hoped that Brisbane City Council will be able to resume funding the Zumba Gold Paddington class under the Active & Healthy Program from July 2023.
    • During this non-funded period, Paddington classes were offered on a user-pays, term-by-term basis, subject to minimum enrolments.
    • BrisWest Centre generously offered to fully subsidise the hall hire fees for this class. ​
    • Term 1 2023 classes (user pays) were cancelled due to insufficient enrolments.

  • CLASS DISCONTINUED:
    • As of 27 February 2023, Brisbane City Council has not included the Zumba Gold Paddington class in the Active and Healthy Program for the 2023-24 financial year.
    • Unfortunately, I do not have the capacity to offer the Zumba Gold Paddington classes on a user-pays basis moving forward. 
    • Sadly, this means that the Zumba Gold Paddington classes have been discontinued.​​
