I love Leonie Dawson - My Business Mentor
I first heard about Leonie Dawson when she was a guest speaker on a Sora Schilling podcast. I really enjoyed Leonie's tell-it-like-it-is approach. In addition to being hilariously funny, she came across as unapologetically herself in her life and in her business. I was really attracted to this non-cookie-cutter approach to business and the invitation to give myself permission to do my business my way. As soon as I read her podcast page, I was sold, so I joined Leonie's Brilliant Biz & Life Academy in September 2023.
Leonie is an international best-selling author of the My Brilliant Year workbooks, self-made multi-millionaire and online business mentor. She has earned over $14 million in revenue and attracts a massive Facebook community of over 16,000 members.
I highly recommend Leonie Dawson as well as her Brilliant Biz & Life Academy (which includes ALL courses and digital planners, templates, checklists, etc)!

Thanks Leonie for kicking me up the butt (with love). I have learned that I've been so passive in my business and putting so many obstacles in the way. I've been trying to solve problems I think my prospects may have without actually asking what they need from me. I call it "problem-solving procrastination"!
For example: I've been intending to contact aged care centres since October last year to offer seated Zumba Gold classes.
On a Get Shit Done Coaching & Co-Working Call with Leonie, I made one call to aged care (yay!) and mentioned how good it felt considering how long I'd been delaying that call.
Leonie suggested, okay great, how about you call a second aged care centre.
I'm like, mission accepted, game on! I made a second call.

Do you know how motivating a potential reward is (even not knowing what it is)??
I made 11 calls. If I didn't have the reward, I probably would have only gotten to about 6 calls. If Leonie didn't encourage me to make more calls beyond the 1-2, I would have been like, okay 1-2 calls for today is enough.
Then I thought maybe the aged care centres will need a seated Zumba Gold webpage, so I created the webpage.
And I thought, maybe it's a good idea to create a video of me explaining seated Zumba Gold classes and so they could get an idea of my vibe. So, I created a video and put it on the webpage.

Last week in our monthly group coaching call, Leonie challenged me to make 20 calls by the end of the week, which I did. Yay me!
At the start of this year, I was in 1 aged care centre. I'm currently running Zumba Gold Chair classes in 11 aged care centres - plus 6 more aged care centres have signed up for a trial session.
I highly recommend Leonie Dawson's Brilliant Biz & Life Academy - it's only USD 29 per month or USD 199 per year - and you get a shit load of courses, workshops, templates, planners, etc. It's a bargain!
- I was being very passive in my business by making 1-2 calls every six months (let's be completely blunt here).
- I was distracting myself with busyness by creating a webpage and video.
- I could choose the mindset of: How about I simply ring aged care centres and ask them what they need from me in order to make a decision?? Then just deliver that. And what they want so far is some info on the class, my pricing and my availability in an email...
- I'm pretty sure I missed opportunities to book in a trial class with an aged care centre immediately on the phone because I believed they needed info from me before booking me in. I need to continue to check my assumptions/beliefs to see how true they actually are.
