A great class to join with lots of fun and new dance moves to learn. Having a blast with my wife even though she enjoys laughing at my lack of rhythm. Very good teaching by Olga. I enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and the fun Olga brings to the class.

Olga - you do a great job. We've enjoyed learning the different steps/sequences of each dance, while having fun. We've enjoyed the classes and appreciate your tremendous patience and enthusiasm! Your instructions are always clear - it's just our memories that don't always hold out too well. Well done.

"Course structure took us from basic introduction to complete dance, allowing good time to practice and master each step. Instructor took [the] time to make sure we were all proficient before moving on. A great introduction to dance."

Frequently Asked Questions...
- Who are Couples Latin Dance classes for?
Couples Latin Dance classes are for you if... (a) you want to learn to dance with your partner and not with random strangers; (b) the kids have left home and you want to reconnect with your partner; (c) you want to do something different for your weekly date night; (d) you want to add some Latin flavour to your wedding dance and/or; (e) you just want to have fun learning something new together
- Do we need to book as a couple?
Yes. All dance styles taught are partnered styles plus there is no changing of partners during the class. Simply bring a dance partner to the class - your partner, a work colleague, a neighbour, a friend or a family member.
"It's relaxed and tuition is intimate and easy to follow. Instructors listen and respond to student needs. Come along, it's fun and friendly."
- What do we wear?
Wear comfortable clothes that do not restrict movement of your arms and legs. On your feet, choose shoes with ankle support and smooth soles - so you can easily twist, pivot and turn. Wearing shoes with too much grip can jar your ankles, knees and hips.
- What is the age range?
The classes are designed for adults, so anyone 18 and up is welcome. Most couples are in their 40s, 50s and 60s.
- How many couples are in the class?
Numbers vary from class to class, with a minimum of 6 couples and up to a maximum of 12 couples per class for face-to-face classes.
Olga provides a fun and encouraging atmosphere with lots of resources for dancing.
~ Sarah from Bellbowrie (March 2018)
- What dance styles can we learn?
Couples can learn (a) Street Latin dance styles - Bachata, Bolero, Forro, Merengue and Salsa, and (b) Ballroom dance styles - American Rumba, American Tango and Cha Cha on 1. To find out more about these dance styles, go to Dance Styles.
- What's the difference between Street Latin and Ballroom Latin?
In essence, there are different genres of Latin dance - Street Latin, American Ballroom Latin and International Ballroom Latin. Street Latin and American Ballroom Latin focus more on social dancing, whilst International Ballroom Latin appears to be more competitive-based (ie DanceSport). You will notice that some dance styles will appear across all three genres; however, please note that the dance style will differ from one genre to another.
- Something has happened and we can't continue with the classes. Can we transfer to the next block?
Unfortunately not. As per the Terms & Conditions, once your enrolment is confirmed in the Couples Latin Dance course, there are no refunds, transfers or credits permitted irrespective of non-attendance, sickness, injury, work or family commitments, or any other change in your circumstances that would impact your ability to attend a class. Any classes you miss will be forfeited.
Please note that each four-week block is independent of the others and will include different sequences, so it's not a simple matter of doing two classes in one block and then being able to catch up in the last two classes of the next block; this will simply overwhelm you and it doesn't serve you at all. To add to the complexity, dance styles may change from one block to the next. Also, each block is run based on minimum bookings.
"[What I like is] the professionalism mixed in with fun, versatility and variety. Lots of laughs, a very free spirited environment. Great lessons."
~ Kerrie Drake
- We missed a class. Can we catch up?
For face-to-face courses: If you are unable to attend a class, you can book a private lesson (at an additional cost) to catch up on what you missed. Please note that there are no refunds/credits for non-attendance.
For online courses: A video recording of each lesson is provided, so you can catch up in your own time.

- Are there any performances or assessments?
