"Course structure took us from basic introduction to complete dance, allowing good time to practice and master each step. Instructor took [the] time to make sure we were all proficient before moving on. A great introduction to dance." |

Your Unique Course WebpageGot home from your Latin dance lesson and can't remember how to do that move? No worries! You'll receive access to a course webpage that outlines what steps we learned in each class, a YouTube video of the move and, for some combinations, a breakdown of the steps in detail. The webpage also the Spotify music list that we use in class, so that you become familiar with the music.

Course Format
The Couples Latin Dance courses are targeted to beginners (and beyond) who wish to move at a moderate pace through the course. Plenty of time for practice will be provided so you can build your confidence. No dance experience is required to get started.
Participants of each course will be a combination of those new to dance as well as those who have done lessons previously.
Instead of teaching a sequence throughout the course, each lesson will focus on one move (in addition to a basic step). And we will cover several variations of that move. So, you can choose how many versions you want to learn. Each lesson then becomes independent of the others, which makes it easier for couples on class passes.
Couples Latin Dance Courses have been put on hold effective April 2023

"It's relaxed and tuition is intimate and easy to follow. Instructors listen and respond to student needs. Come along, it's fun and friendly."
~ Fiona
- What do we wear?
Wear comfortable clothes that do not restrict movement of your arms and legs. On your feet, choose shoes with ankle support and smooth soles - so you can easily twist, pivot and turn. Wearing shoes with too much grip can jar your ankles, knees and hips. - What is the age range?
The classes are designed for adults, so anyone 18 and up is welcome. There is a diverse age range from couples in their 20s to couples in their 70s. - How many couples are in the class?
Numbers vary from class to class, with a minimum of 6 couples and up to a maximum of 15 couples per class.
Olga provides a fun and encouraging atmosphere with lots of resources for dancing.
~ Sarah from Bellbowrie
- What dance styles can we learn?
Couples can learn (a) Street Latin dance styles - Bachata, Bolero, Merengue and Salsa, and (b) Ballroom dance styles - American Rumba, American Tango and Cha Cha on 1. To find out more about these dance styles, go to Dance Styles. - What's the difference between Street Latin and Ballroom Latin?
In essence, there are different genres of Latin dance - Street Latin, American Ballroom Latin and International Ballroom Latin. Street Latin and American Ballroom Latin focus more on social dancing, whilst International Ballroom Latin appears to be more competitive-based (ie DanceSport). You will notice that some dance styles will appear across all three genres; however, please note that the dance style will differ from one genre to another. - Something has happened and we can't continue with the classes. Can we transfer to the next block?
Unfortunately not. As per the Terms & Conditions, there are no refunds, transfers or credits permitted irrespective of non-attendance, sickness, injury, work or family commitments, or any other change in your circumstances that would impact your ability to attend a class. Any classes you miss will be forfeited. You may wish to consider private lessons.
"[What I like is] the professionalism mixed in with fun, versatility and variety. Lots of laughs, a very free spirited environment. Great lessons."
