As you’ve probably noticed… our Zumba Gold Nature Edition comes with a little bit of weather unpredictability 🌧️😉

So I’ve put a plan in place to keep us moving no matter what.

🌦️ Wet Weather Plan
If the weather is too wet for our outdoor class, we’ll switch to a livestream class via Zoom instead.

If it’s fine and sunny ☀️
👉 we’ll be dancing outdoors as planned

If it’s wet 🌧️
👉 we’ll boogie together online

Just a quick reminder that our outdoor Zumba Gold Wynnum adventure begins this Monday, 20 April.

As the roof restoration works get underway at Waterloo Bay Leisure Centre, we’ll be moving to our temporary outdoor space next to the Shire Cottage, right beside our usual venue.

Same days, same time
📍 Outdoor space next to the Shire Cottage (beside WBLC)
🕗 Mondays & Wednesdays 8:00am – 9:00am
Same fabulous boogie — just with a bit more sky and fresh air ☀️🌿💃

🚗 Parking Update
There will be some temporary changes to parking during the works:
• The north car park (to the left of the building) will be closed
• The rear car park (to the right of the building) will be partially closed
Please allow a little extra time for parking and walking to the outdoor space.

☕ Facilities Still Available
The auditorium (our usual class space) will be closed, however the rest of the centre remains open. You’ll still have access to:
• Bathrooms
• Drinking water (from the dining area)
• Morning tea from the centre kitchen after class ☕
So you can still enjoy your usual post-class cuppa and catch-up ☕

A few quick reminders

💧 Bring water
🌿 Be ready for a little fresh-air adventure

Classes will return to the auditorium at the Waterloo Bay Leisure Centre once the roof works are complete (expected end of June), and I’ll keep you updated along the way.

I’m really looking forward to sharing this little outdoor chapter with you — it’s going to be fun, refreshing, and a bit of a change of scenery for us all.

I have a little update for all you gorgeous groovers in our Zumba Gold Wynnum tribe.

From Monday 20 April through to the end of June (approximately 10 weeks), roof restoration works will be taking place at Waterloo Bay Leisure Centre, which means we won’t be able to use our usual hall during that time.

But don’t worry — the music is still playing and the boogie goes on!

We’ve been offered a lovely temporary outdoor space on the flat grassed area next to the Shire Cottage, right next door to our usual venue.

So for those 10 weeks, we’re heading out on a little outdoor dance adventure — no extra petrol costs required 😉⛽

Why this is actually rather fabulous ☀️🌿

There are some beautiful benefits to taking our classes outdoors for a while:
☀️ A little sunshine and Vitamin D to help lift mood and support bone health
🌿 Fresh air and nature — there’s something so uplifting about moving outdoors
💨 A refreshing start to the day with the morning breeze
🌸 A bit of variety and adventure — sometimes a change of scenery is just what we need
💃 Same welcoming class, same Olga, same fabulous music and community

Think of it as our very own BoogieCamp outdoor edition.

And yes… please do bring your 4WD sneakers 😄👟

I’m actually quite excited for this little adventure and I’d love for you to embrace it with me.

UPDATED VALIDITY PERIODS FOR STARTER PACKS & CLASS PASSES

I wanted to share a small update to our class passes and starter packs that I think you’ll appreciate.

Recently, I’ve been reviewing attendance patterns, and one thing I always want is for Zumba Gold Wynnum to feel supportive, enjoyable, and easy to stay consistent with — not something that feels rushed or pressured.

So, I’ve made a small adjustment to validity periods to give you a little more breathing room and flexibility.

✨ Updated validity periods:

Starter Pack (3 classes): now valid for 5 weeks
5 Class Pass: now valid for 10 weeks
10 Class Pass: now valid for 16 weeks
20 Class Pass: remains at 26 weeks

These changes are designed to better reflect real life — holidays, appointments, energy levels, and everything in between — while still supporting a consistent and feel-good routine.

My intention is always to create a space where you can move your body, enjoy the music, and come as you are… without pressure.

Thank you for being such a beautiful part of this community 💛

Whether you come once a week or a couple of times when it suits, there’s space for you here.

I have a new option to share with you!

As you know, Zumba Gold Wynnum Class Passes are offered at a discounted rate compared to casual classes and come with a set expiry date (you can always view your remaining classes and expiry via the Class Pass Register here: https://www.rebrand.ly/WYNREG).

To support those who may be running out of time to use their remaining classes, I’m introducing:

✨ Class Pass Extensions ✨

For $25, you can extend the expiry date of your current Class Pass by four weeks.

Here’s how it works:

The extension must be purchased before your pass expires
Four weeks are added to your current expiry date
The extension fee is non-refundable
Multiple extensions can be purchased, provided payment is made before the applicable expiry date

Example:
If your pass expires on 31 March 2026 and you purchase an extension before that date, your new expiry will be 28 April 2026.

As outlined in our Terms & Conditions, expiry dates apply regardless of changes in circumstances. The Extension is a paid option that allows flexibility while honouring the discounted structure of the Class Pass system and the admin time required to manage it manually.

Are you one of only 6% of Australian adults getting their 5 serves of veggies daily?

According to the latest Health + Wellbeing Queensland newsletter:

"Only 6% of Australian adults are eating the recommended 5 serves of veggies per day. And Queensland ranks the lowest amongst all states."

The recommended daily intake is 5 serves of vegetables. "Vegetables aren't just a nutritional checkbox - they play a key role in both physical and mental wellbeing", including gut health.

Personally, I struggle with consistently getting 5 serves of vegetables every day, however, my vegetable intake has definitely increased since doing the My Health for Life program.

My focus is to get my 5 serves of vegetables across breakfast and lunch (as I'll mostly have the deconstructed cheesecake dessert (or something light) for dinner).

I have a smoothie for breakfast - milk, protein powder, dollop of Greek yogurt, flax seeds (or hemp seeds), frozen fruit (banana or berries), shredded coconut, baby spinach, and chopped cucumber.

Lunch is my big meal of the day and I'll opt for veggie-rich dishes like Burrito Bowls, Frittata, Salad, Curry, Dahl, etc.

Starter Pack (for newbies only) - first 3 classes for $20 (valid 4 weeks)
20 Class Pass $180 (valid 26 weeks, $9 per class)

5 Class Pass $55 (valid 6 weeks, $11 per class)

Wynnum Payment Options:

Cash: Correct change only. Place your payment in a zip lock bag (provided) and write your name and the amount on the front.
PS: If you bring your own zip lock bag, you are welcome to grab an empty one as an exchange.
Credit/Debit Card, Google Pay, Apple Pay, AfterPay: You can either pay online using the payment links on the Wynnum webpage, or scan the QR Code in class and pay on your smartphone.

Wynnum Morning Tea Protocols

As you mostly likely know, after the class, you can purchase tea, coffee (including cappuccino) and morning tea from the kitchen at Waterloo Bay Leisure Centre for an affordable price.

Where can you partake in your morning tea and chats?

Your fresh air option is on the verandah, which is always available for morning tea.

Depending on availability, you may be able to have morning tea in the big hall (where our class is held), in the dining area next to the kitchen, or in the library (behind reception).

These three spaces are all bookable, so if the space is vacant, please confirm with reception that you can use it.

On most Mondays, there are craft ladies in the dining area, so if the hall is not being set up for a function, you can use the big hall (once again, double check with reception).

On Wednesdays, there is a line dancing class by Christina in the dining area. Sandra on reception will often turn the aircon on in the library for you (unless there is a morning tea booking in the library).

Even if the dining area is being used, I have confirmed that you can enter the dining area on Mondays and Wednesdays to order your morning tea from the counter and/or to purchase the frozen meals. As you do this, obviously be respectful to the group in the dining area space.

If you've not joined me for a while (or at all), then I invite you to embrace being a beginner. You don't need to be fit to start. You don't need to know all the moves. You're allowed to go slow, take a breather, try again and learn as you go.

What to Wear & Bring:
- Wear your workout clothes and shoes
- Bring a sweat towel (optional)
- Bring light hand weights up to 1kg each for the Toning section (optional)

Your Class Pass can be used to groove at both Zumba Gold Wynnum and user-pays Zumba Gold Manly classes.
You can't get a refund on a Class Pass but you can share your Class Pass or transfer your unused classes to a dancing buddy.
Once your Class Pass expires, any classes you haven't used are gone...poof! (Update: Class Pass Extensions were introduced on 3 March 2026.)
**Update: On 18 March 2026, validity periods for 5 and 10 Class Passes were extended to 10 weeks and 16 weeks from date of purchase, respectively.

TERMS & CONDITIONS APPLY: Terms & Conditions apply, and remain in effect regardless of non-attendance, illness, injury, personal/work/family/community commitments, weather conditions, or any other change in your circumstances that may impact your ability to attend the class during the specified timeframe. PAYMENT OPTIONS

ONLINE: You can pay online with Debit/Credit Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Zip Pay or AfterPay.
IN CLASS: You can pay in class by cash (correct amount only), PayPal (using PayPal app on your smartphone) or scan the QR Code with your smartphone to pay online (as above).
Please note that I do NOT have a Card Reader for in-class payments.

GST REGISTRATION
Please note that I am now registered for GST (effective 1 January 2026), so all pricing is now GST inclusive.

ENTERING YOUR BILLING ADDRESS WHEN PAYING ONLINE
Now that I am GST Registered, when you're paying online, you'll need to enter your billing address so that the GST is calculated correctly (ie: the system needs to check that you have an Australian address).

Cash Payment Update

The correct amount in cash will only be accepted (change is no longer being provided). Simply write your name on one of the zip lock bags provided, insert your cash, zip it up and place in money box. If you're bringing your own zip lock bag, you are welcome to take an empty zip lock bag to take home to use for the next class (so you're not using up your own zip lock bags).

Australia Day

Good news.... we are grooving on Australia Day, Monday 26 January. The Zumba Gold show must go on and we will not be stopped by a public holiday! Yippee!

Brisbane City Council Active & Healthy Classes

My Brisbane City Council Active & Healthy classes return from Tuesday 27 January as follows:

Mondays 1:30pm at Moorooka Community Centre (Chair) - from 2 February
