- Originating from Cuba, Rumba (also spelled Rhumba) has a “quick-quick-slow” beat and is referred to as the “dance of love” or the "dance of romance".
- There are several different types of Rumba: (a) American-style Ballroom Rumba; (b) International-style Ballroom Rumba; and (c) Cuban Rumba (which is further subdivided into (i) Rumba Yambu, (ii) Rumba Guaguanco, and (iii) Rumba Columbia (solo dance)).
